Veteran's Day

Yes, the library will be open on Veteran's Day. However, storytime will not be held since school is closed.

Chances are, if you're not on Facebook already, then you're likely to be getting on it pretty soon. Whether it's your kids or your neighbor (or those old friends you just reunited with at your high school reunion), people around you have been nagging you to sign up, set up a profile, and start "social-networking" with all your friends. Social-networking sites such as Facebook (and MySpace, Bebo, LinkedIn, etc) are increasingly turning into the first place people go when they get on the Internet, as these services offer e-mail, chat, music players, photo sharing, and so much more beyond just staying in touch with your Friends.
Sign up for the library's facebook 101 class on 11/24 and set up your profile, learn how to add pictures, send messages, deal with privacy settings, and more.

Party On

For storytime this week children are invited to wear a costume for a little Halloween fun.
Join us this Wednesday morning, 10/28 from 10:15-11:00.

I would like to thank the community for a successful book and pie sale! Your support of the Marion Friends of the Library group is much appreciated. Thank you to those who donated and/or purchased books, and to those who baked delicious pies or other goodies. And of course, thanks to those folks who bought and ate them! : )
You know what they say, "Many hands make light work." Here's a shout out to the volunteers who set up, worked the sale and/or tore down the sale. You were very helpful and also greatly appreciated!

Book Club

Join the library book club on Wednesday, October 28 at 6:30 PM as they meet to discuss The Senator's Wife, by Sue Miller.


All are welcome to attend.

Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to assist with the upcoming book sale later this month. Please stop by the library to sign up at the desk.


Setup will be Wednesday, October 21 in the evening and the book & pie sale will run Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24. Thank you for your help!
